For SaaS founders and growth teams
SaaS Advertising Costs and Where to Advertise Your Software
SaaS advertising runs from $5 a day on Reddit to about $30,000 a year for an enterprise review site program. Google Search averaged $5.26 a click in 2025, LinkedIn wants $10 a day before it serves an ad, and G2's Starter package is $2,999 for the first year. A placement on this software directory is $299 a week, and your review profile stays indexed after it ends.

SaaS advertising channels and what each one costs
Eight places a software company can buy attention, priced the way a vendor actually pays for them. The column most founders skip is the last one. Search and social ads stop the day the card stops. A directory profile or review page keeps ranking for your product name, which is why it belongs in the mix even when the budget is small.
| Channel | How you pay | Typical cost | Minimum | Best for | After you stop paying |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Search Ads | Pay per click, auction | $5.26 average click across industries (WordStream 2025) | No minimum | Problem and competitor keywords with buying intent | Stops the day the budget stops |
| LinkedIn Ads | Pay per click or per 1,000 views | $2 minimum bid, real B2B clicks usually far higher | $10 a day | Selling by job title, seniority or company size | Stops with the budget |
| Reddit Ads | Pay per click or per 1,000 views | Auction, cheaper than LinkedIn for niche communities | $5 a day | Developer and technical audiences in specific subreddits | Stops with the budget |
| Capterra PPC | Pay per click on category pages | $2.00 floor a click, about $500 a month in practice | Category minimum bid | SMB tools with a known trial to paid rate | Free listing stays, clicks stop |
| G2 paid profile | Annual package | Starter $299 a month or $2,999 first year (G2 FY26 guide) | Annual contract | Mid market vendors whose buyers ask for G2 | Free profile stays, features stop |
| AI tool directories | One time listing fee | $49 to $497 (TAAFT, Toolify, Futurepedia) | Per submission | AI products at launch | Listing stays, launch spike fades |
| Niche newsletter sponsorship | Flat fee per send | Quoted per issue, scales with list size | One issue | A single launch or offer to a tight audience | One send |
| SaaS Reviews placement | Flat fee, subscription | $299 a week, $999 a month or $2,999 a year | One week | SaaS and AI tools that want buyers in a category plus a permanent profile | Profile and alternatives page stay indexed |

Where to advertise your SaaS at each stage
The right channel depends less on the product than on how much you can afford to lose while you learn. Here is how we would split a budget.
Before $5,000 a month in revenue
Skip LinkedIn. Put $300 to $600 into things that stay: a review profile, two or three directories that rank for your category, and a small Google campaign on your exact competitor and problem keywords. A $299 week at the top of this directory fits here.
From $5,000 to $50,000 a month
Google Search becomes the main line, with a tracked cost per trial. Add Reddit or a niche newsletter to test one audience at a time. Keep a monthly directory placement running in your strongest category so buyers comparing tools find you there, too.
Selling to mid market and up
LinkedIn earns its price once contracts pass a few thousand dollars a year. This is also where a paid G2 package starts paying back, because procurement teams ask for it. Directory placements move from acquisition to coverage, so you show up on every alternatives page in your category.
Advertise your SaaS on this directory
Buyers land here from searches for a product's reviews, its alternatives and its category. A placement puts your product at the top of those pages and on the home page, with a dofollow link back to you.

How a placement goes live
1
Pick a period
A week to test, a month to run a campaign, or a year for coverage in your category.
2
Add your product
Name, URL, the category your buyers browse and the call to action you want on the card.
3
Pay by card
Checkout takes a card. The product has to be real and live before the card is shown to buyers.
4
Go live
Your card moves to the top of the directory and the home page. You get a panel to edit it while it runs.
Is a flat fee placement better than paying per click
Not always, and it is worth being straight about that. At WordStream's 2025 average of $5.26 a click, $299 buys about 57 Google clicks from people typing a query you chose. If your trial to paid rate is known and your keyword has volume, those 57 clicks are easier to measure than a week of directory exposure.
What the click does not buy is anything that lasts. The placement comes with a review profile, an alternatives page that names you next to the tools you compete with, and a dofollow link. Those keep working after the week ends. We would run both: search ads for the demand that already exists, a directory placement for buyers still building a shortlist.
If you are weighing a review site contract instead, our G2 alternatives price comparison and the Capterra PPC cost per customer math cover those two in detail.

SaaS advertising FAQ
What is the best advertising platform for SaaS?
For most B2B SaaS the best advertising platform is Google Search, because the buyer is already typing the problem your product solves. LinkedIn is second when you sell by job title or company size. Review directories and software catalogs come third: cheaper, slower, and they keep sending buyers after the budget stops, because the profile stays indexed.
How much does it cost to advertise a SaaS product?
Advertising a SaaS product costs anywhere from $5 a day on Reddit to $30,000 a year for an enterprise review site program. Google Search averaged $5.26 a click across industries in WordStream's 2025 benchmarks, LinkedIn needs at least $10 a day, and a placement on this directory runs $299 a week or $999 a month.
How much should a SaaS company spend on advertising?
Early stage B2B SaaS companies usually spend 20 to 40 percent of revenue on marketing, and paid media is typically 15 to 20 percent of that marketing budget. A bootstrapped product with $10,000 in monthly revenue is therefore looking at a few hundred to about a thousand dollars a month for ads, which is why cheap fixed price placements matter.
Is Google Ads good for SaaS?
Google Ads is good for SaaS when you bid on problem and competitor keywords with clear buying intent, such as "invoice software for contractors" or "an alternative to a named tool". It is poor for brand new categories nobody searches for yet. Budget for a learning period of a few weeks and track trial starts, not clicks.
Is LinkedIn advertising worth it for B2B SaaS?
LinkedIn advertising is worth it for B2B SaaS with an average contract above a few thousand dollars a year, because it is the only network that targets by job title, seniority and company size. The price is high. LinkedIn requires a $10 daily minimum and a $2 minimum bid, and real clicks in B2B often cost several times that.
Where can I advertise my SaaS besides Google and LinkedIn?
Besides Google and LinkedIn you can advertise a SaaS on Reddit, in niche newsletters, on review sites such as Capterra and G2, on AI tool directories, and on independent software directories like this one. Directories cost the least per month and double as a review profile that ranks for your own product name.
Do software directory ads actually work?
Software directory ads work when the directory has category and alternatives pages that buyers land on from search, because that is where a placement is seen. They work poorly on directories with no organic traffic. Check that the directory's category pages are indexed, and prefer placements that include a permanent profile and a dofollow link.
