For SaaS founders and product marketers
Software Submission Sites and SaaS Listing Websites to Submit Software
The software submission sites worth your time are the ones buyers read: G2 and Capterra for business buyers, SourceForge for IT, AlternativeTo and SaaSHub for people replacing a tool, and Product Hunt for launch day. Most list you for free. Visibility is what costs money, from $49 a month here to $2,999 a year on G2.

Where can I submit my software?
You can submit software to four kinds of site, and they do different jobs. Review sites and directories keep sending buyers for years because the profile stays indexed. Launch boards give you one loud day. Bulk submission services save you an afternoon of form filling but leave the important profiles half empty. Most vendors need a little of the first two and a lot less of the last two than they think.
Lasts years
Review sites
G2, Capterra, TrustRadius. Business buyers compare here before a demo. Free to list, expensive to stand out.
Lasts years
Software directories
SourceForge, AlternativeTo, SaaSHub, SaaSworthy and this site. Catch people searching your category or a tool you replace.
Lasts a day or a week
Launch boards
Product Hunt, BetaList, Launching Next. A spike of makers and early adopters, mostly not your buyers.
One time
Bulk submission services
$60 to $200 to be added to 100+ directories. Fast baseline, thin profiles, links of mixed quality.
Software submission sites compared on cost and payoff
G2 prices come from its FY26 external pricing guide, TrustRadius from its own vendor pricing page, SubmitSaaS from its order page. Capterra publishes no rate card, so its click floor is what vendors report. BetaList shows its entry price only inside the form. Prices change, so confirm before you pay.
| Site | Type | What a vendor pays | What you get | Best for |

Where the big sites win
G2 and Capterra rank for thousands of "best X software" searches and have years of reviews. If your buyers are US business owners, a complete free profile on both is not optional.
Where we fit
We are much smaller. What you get for a known $49 a month is a review profile and an alternatives page that can rank for your product name while your brand is still new, without a click auction.
The honest catch
Free listings on SaaSHub, SaaSworthy and AlternativeTo cost nothing and you should have them. On their own they seldom move buyers, but they add pages that appear when someone searches your name.
The order to submit software in
Order matters because a half empty profile on a big site is worse than none. Do the high value ones properly, then widen.
- 1
Prepare one kit
A 160 character description, a 600 word description, five screenshots at 1280 px, your logo in square and wide, public pricing and a list of the three tools you replace. Every form asks for the same things.
- 2
G2 and Capterra, by hand
Claim both free profiles, fill every field, then ask five happy customers for a review on each. Ten reviews is roughly where a grid or category placement starts to show you.
- 3
Category directories
SourceForge for technical tools, AlternativeTo and SaaSHub against the brand you replace, and one paid profile that ranks for your name. Check each one by searching "best <your category> software" and seeing who shows up.
- 4
Launch boards last
Launch on Product Hunt once the review profiles exist, so the visitors who search your name afterward land on reviews, not on nothing.
Is it worth paying for a directory submission service?
A directory submission service is worth it when your hour costs more than the fee and you only want baseline listings. It is not a replacement for the five or six profiles that actually send buyers.
Bulk service
$60 to $200
one time, about 48 hours
- + 100 to 140 listings without your time
- + A quick lift in referring domains
- − Short descriptions, rarely pricing or screenshots
- − Many links are nofollow or on low traffic pages
- − Nobody asks your customers for reviews
By hand, top 10 sites
About 6 hours
plus whatever paid visibility you choose
- + Complete profiles with pricing and screenshots
- + Reviews requested where buyers read them
- + Profiles you can keep up to date
- − Takes an afternoon or two
- − Free profiles still need reviews to rank
The sensible mix for most founders: do the top ten by hand, let a service handle the long tail if you want it, and skip anything that promises hundreds of sites for under $20.
Which sites to pick for your kind of product
B2B SaaS for small businesses
Capterra network first, then G2, then one flat fee profile. Capterra clicks only after you know your trial to paid rate.
AI tools
AI directories and a review profile. Our AI tool submission price list compares the $49 to $497 fees.
Developer and IT tools
SourceForge, AlternativeTo and a Show HN post. G2 later, when IT buyers start asking for it in security reviews.
Enterprise software
G2 and TrustRadius, because procurement asks for them. Budget a quoted program and keep cheaper profiles for long tail searches.
Software submission questions vendors ask
Where can I submit my software?
+
You can submit software to review sites (G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, SourceForge), independent directories (SaaSHub, SaaSworthy, AlternativeTo and this site), launch boards (Product Hunt, BetaList, Launching Next) and, for AI products, AI tool directories. Start with the review sites your buyers already read, then add two or three directories that rank for your category.
What are the best software submission sites?
+
The best software submission sites for a B2B SaaS are G2 and Capterra for buyer traffic, SourceForge for developer and IT tools, AlternativeTo and SaaSHub for alternatives searches, and Product Hunt for a launch spike. A flat fee review directory adds a profile that can rank for your product name while the brand is new.
Are software submission sites free?
+
Most software submission sites have a free basic listing. G2, Capterra, SourceForge, AlternativeTo, SaaSHub and Product Hunt all list for $0. You pay when you want visibility: Capterra clicks from a reported $2.00, G2 Starter at $2,999 a year, or a priority listing here at $49 a month. A few, such as BetaList, are paid only.
Do software submission sites help SEO?
+
Software submission sites help SEO mainly by giving buyers a second page about your product when they search your name, and by sending referral visits from category pages. The links themselves are modest: many directory links are nofollow or sit on pages with little authority. Pick sites that rank for your category, not the longest list.
How many directories should I submit my SaaS to?
+
Submit a new SaaS to between 10 and 25 directories that match its category, not hundreds. Ten well chosen review sites and directories with complete profiles beat a 140 site blast, because the profiles that send buyers are the ones you can keep updated with screenshots, pricing and fresh reviews.
Is it worth paying for a directory submission service?
+
A directory submission service is worth it when your time costs more than the fee and you only want baseline listings. Services charge about $60 to $200 one time. They rarely fill in pricing, screenshots or review requests, so the profiles that matter most, G2, Capterra and your best category directory, are still worth doing by hand.
How do I submit my software to G2 and Capterra?
+
To submit software to G2, create a free account on G2's seller side and add your product, then verify that you work at the company. Capterra works the same way through its vendor portal, and one Capterra profile also appears on GetApp and Software Advice. Both review submissions before the profile goes live.
