GetApp Pricing for Software Vendors and What GetApp Ads Cost
What GetApp charges a software vendor in 2026: free listing, the pay per click budget it shares with Capterra, lead prices, and the math for deciding.

A priority listing is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, and includes a review profile, an alternatives page and a dofollow link.
Submit your product See what a listing includesShort answer: A GetApp listing is free for software vendors. Paid visibility comes from the same pay per click program that runs Capterra and Software Advice: one budget, one dashboard, a reported minimum bid of $2.00 a click and a practical floor of about $500 a month. Screened leads are sold separately, reported at $70 to $250 each. GetApp publishes no rate card, and since February 2026 it belongs to G2.

GetApp sales reps rarely open with a number. They open with traffic, then ask what a customer is worth to you, then quote. That order is not an accident: the price of GetApp depends almost entirely on which category you sit in and how much the vendors around you are willing to bid. This page puts the figures vendors actually report in one place, shows how GetApp's budget is shared with Capterra, and gives you the math to decide before the call rather than during it.

How much does GetApp cost for vendors?
GetApp costs nothing to list on. You can claim your profile, add screenshots and pricing, collect reviews and reply to them without paying. Money only enters when you want a sponsored position and the outbound "Visit Website" button, or when you want qualified leads delivered to your sales team.
| Cost line | Figure | Source and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Basic GetApp listing | $0 | GetApp lists paying and non paying vendors alike. |
| Minimum bid per click | $2.00, reported | Shared floor across Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice. |
| Monthly budget floor | About $500, reported | The practical entry ticket; agencies suggest $1,000 to $2,000 for readable data. |
| Typical cost per click | $2 to $10 | Crowded categories like CRM, ERP and HR software clear far higher. |
| Pay per lead | About $70 to $250 a lead, reported | Leads screened by advisors, priced by company size and category. |
| Contract | Monthly PPC, quoted lead programs | Ask for the notice period in writing before you start. |
None of these numbers appear on a public GetApp price page, because there is no public price page. Treat them as what vendors and agencies report from their own dashboards, and ask your rep two specific questions: what is the current floor in my category, and what is the average winning bid in the top three positions. The second number is the one that sets your budget.
Is GetApp the same as Capterra?
GetApp is a separate website, but it shares Capterra's owner and Capterra's vendor backend. One profile feeds both sites, plus Software Advice, and one pay per click budget runs across all three at once. A click from GetApp is billed the same way as a click from Capterra.
That matters in two ways. First, "GetApp pricing" and "Capterra pricing" are really the same price list, so if you already read our Capterra PPC cost breakdown, the click math there applies here unchanged. Second, you cannot buy GetApp traffic on its own to test it. If GetApp's audience suits you better than Capterra's, the dashboard reports will show you which site sent the clicks, but the budget is still one budget.
Then there is the ownership change. G2 agreed to buy Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice from Gartner on January 29, 2026, and closed the deal on February 5, 2026, for a reported $110 million. The three sites now sit inside G2 Digital Markets. As of this writing they still keep their own dashboard, sales team and pricing, separate from G2.com plans. If you are signing anything longer than a month, ask whether the rate holds if the programs are merged, and whether G2 and GetApp spend can be bundled into one negotiation. Our G2 vs Capterra vendor cost comparison covers the G2 side of that conversation.
How does GetApp pay per click work?
Each GetApp category page shows sponsored listings above the free ones. Vendors bid a maximum cost per click per category, and higher bids take higher positions. The reported mechanics are second price: you pay a little above the next bid below yours, not your full maximum. Clicks on the "Visit Website" button are what you pay for, and they land on whatever page you set.
Three things follow from that:
- Category choice beats bid size. A tool that fits a broad category ("Project Management") and a narrow one ("Construction Project Management") usually gets cheaper, better clicks in the narrow one.
- You are buying a comparison shopper. The person clicking is weighing several tools at once. A landing page with your price and a trial button converts that person; a generic homepage usually does not.
- The big bidders set your price. If the top sponsored slots in your category belong to brands with sales teams and five figure contracts, their customer value is setting the clearing bid, not yours.
GetApp pay per lead and what a lead costs
The lead product is sold mostly under the Software Advice name. Advisors speak with buyers, run a needs analysis, and pass on the ones that match your lead criteria (company size, industry, location). Vendors bid by market and company size band. Software Advice's own service description adds that scheduled meetings can carry an extra fee, which is refunded if the buyer does not show and cannot reschedule, and that lead refunds follow a separate policy inside the vendor account.
Reported lead prices run from about $70 to $250 each, depending on company size and category. A $150 lead that closes one time in ten is a $1,500 customer acquisition cost before any sales salary. For a product sold at $5,000 a year or more, that can be fine. For a $30 a month tool, it never is.
Paid leads also go stale quickly. A buyer who spoke to an advisor this morning is talking to three of your competitors by tonight. If you buy leads, have a plan to route each paid lead to the right rep automatically so the first call happens within the hour, not the next day. Speed is most of the return on a purchased lead.
Is GetApp worth it for a small SaaS company?
GetApp is worth paying for when your numbers already show that comparison traffic converts. Use this check with your own figures, not ours:
| Input | Example, niche category | Example, crowded category |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly budget | $1,000 | $1,000 |
| Average cost per click | $2.50 | $11.00 |
| Clicks | 400 | about 90 |
| Click to trial (your number) | 5%, so 20 trials | 5%, so about 4 trials |
| Trial to paid (your number) | 20%, so 4 customers | 20%, so under 1 customer |
| Cost per customer | $250 | about $1,100 |
The percentages are placeholders. The lesson is the multiplier: the same budget buys a customer for $250 in one category and over $1,000 in another. If first year revenue per customer is $600, GetApp pays in the niche column and loses money in the crowded one.
Before spending anything, look at what your free GetApp listing already sends. If it brings visitors who sign up, paid position will usually scale that. If it sends nothing, the problem is the listing, the reviews or the category, and paying for a sponsored slot will just buy more of the same silence.
What are cheaper alternatives to GetApp advertising?
The cheapest swap is a fixed price listing on a site G2 does not own. You know the cost in advance, and the profile keeps working without a weekly bid. Here are the options vendors usually weigh against a GetApp budget:
| Option | Cost to start | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Free GetApp, Capterra and G2 profiles | $0 | Every vendor; claim them so reviews collect in one place. |
| SaaSHub and SaaSworthy free listings | $0 | Extra review pages that show up for your brand name. |
| SaaS Reviews priority listing | $49 a month or $288 a year | Early stage SaaS and AI tools that need a profile and alternatives page that rank. |
| G2 Starter | $2,999 a year (FY26 guide) | Vendors selling to mid market buyers who ask for G2. |
| GetApp and Capterra PPC | About $500 a month | SMB tools with a known trial to paid rate. |
The full list, including TrustRadius, SourceForge and PeerSpot with who owns each, is on our Capterra alternatives comparison. If you sell to enterprise buyers, the G2 alternatives guide is the better starting point.
How do I negotiate a GetApp quote?
- Ask for category data first. Request the floor, the average winning bid in the top three slots and last quarter's click volume for your exact category.
- Start monthly. Pay per click does not need an annual commitment. If a rep offers a discount for one, compare it against what you would lose if the category turns out to be expensive.
- Send clicks to a dedicated page. A page that matches the GetApp listing, shows pricing and has a trial button is the cheapest conversion lift you can buy.
- Set a stop rule. Decide before launch what cost per trial ends the test after 30 days, and hold to it.
- Ask about the merger. Get in writing whether your rate survives if G2 folds GetApp into its own plans.
GetApp pricing FAQ
Is GetApp free for vendors?
Yes. A GetApp listing, profile edits, review collection and review replies are free. You pay only for sponsored position through pay per click, which is shared with Capterra and Software Advice, or for screened leads. Many small vendors run the free profile for months before deciding whether paid clicks make sense.
Who owns GetApp?
G2 owns GetApp. It bought GetApp, Capterra and Software Advice from Gartner in a deal announced on January 29, 2026 and closed on February 5, 2026, reportedly for about $110 million. The three sites now operate as G2 Digital Markets, still with their own vendor dashboard and pricing.
Does GetApp have a minimum spend?
There is no published minimum, but vendors report a $2.00 minimum bid and a practical budget floor of about $500 a month for pay per click. Below that, a campaign rarely gets enough clicks to judge. Lead programs are quoted individually by category and company size.
If the numbers above say GetApp clicks are not for you yet, a flat profile is the low risk first step. List your SaaS here for $49 a month and keep your free GetApp profile collecting reviews in parallel.
