Is Scribd legit or a scam?

Scribd is a real company that sells through its own site at scribd.com. This directory has not flagged it as a scam, but a listing cannot prove a vendor is safe for your data or your budget. Most software scams run through lookalike domains and fake resellers, so run these checks before you sign.

  • 1.Buy only on scribd.com and check the checkout page shows the same company name.
  • 2.If it will touch customer or company data, ask for a SOC 2 Type II report or a completed security questionnaire.
  • 3.Start on monthly billing or a paid pilot before you commit to an annual contract.
  • 4.Pay by card or invoice. A vendor asking for a wire or crypto up front is a red flag.
  • 5.Read the low-star reviews first, then compare Scribd alternatives.

Scribd pricing

Scribd has not added plan prices to this profile, which usually means pricing is quoted after a demo. Check the pricing page on scribd.com or ask for a quote, and get these four answers in writing:

  • Price per seat, per usage unit, or flat, and the minimum you pay.
  • Minimum contract term and whether it renews automatically.
  • Setup, onboarding or integration fees.
  • The cap on price increases at renewal.
